Position Overview

As a Marketing Copywriter at Imagine, you will prepare creative and persuasive copy to urge prospects to purchase a client's goods or services. Copy is used in several media vehicles including websites, blogs, social media, etc. Must also have the capacity to be knowledgeable about the client's industry, services and/or product line. This can be through experience, knowledge, or research.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Interact with clients to learn about their products or services.
  • Work with the client services team to understand voice and presentation to marketplace.
  • Be familiar with each client’s marketing plan as it might influence the way certain pieces are written.
  • Work with graphic designer when needed to understand how the appropriate copy is used in conjunction with any graphics being used.
  • Understand that several edits and rewrites are sometimes necessary to ensure the copy is creative, attention-grabbing, effective, and that it meets the client's approval.
  • Write copy for several different types of marketing materials, including websites, blogs, articles, newsletters, webinars, landing page copy, etc.
  • Have the ability to write in different styles and tones in order to reach a variety of audiences.
  • Work with various computer software programs, conduct Internet research, and keep in contact with the client services team, strategist, clients and supervisors via e-mail.

Essential Education, Experience, Skills, and Attributes

  • BA/BS degree in Creative Writing, English, Communications, Journalism, Marketing or related fields required.
  • 2-4 years of copywriting experience in marketing, advertising, direct marketing or publishing preferred.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills required.
  • Writing sample/portfolio is required.
  • Understanding of SEO, SEM and social media.
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret complex theories and methodical information into practical marketing language.
  • Ability to repurpose content created for various different formats.
  • Ability to manage and meet multiple deadlines.
  • Past experience building an audience.
